Underwater Gusset Plate Installation
SIFM performs precision underwater gusset plate installation to reinforce and strengthen structural joints in marine infrastructure. Gusset plates are welded or bolted in place by our certified divers, restoring or enhancing the load-bearing capacity of weakened structural connections.
This service is critical for aging port structures, piers, jetties, and offshore supports where joint degradation threatens structural integrity. All underwater welding and bolting operations are performed to recognised marine construction standards with full photographic documentation.

Joint Inspection
Divers carry out a detailed underwater survey of the structural joint to assess the extent of degradation and determine the appropriate gusset plate specification.
-
Surface & Joint Preparation
The joint area is cleaned, and connection surfaces are prepared to ensure proper fit, weld quality, or bolt torque.
-
Gusset Plate Installation
The gusset plate is positioned and secured by underwater welding or high-tensile bolting, depending on structural requirements.
-
Final Inspection & Report
The completed installation is documented with HD underwater video and photographs, and a structural report is delivered.
